The sacrament of Confirmation is the acceptance of the Church's mission to spread and defend the faith. Confirmation seals the gifts of the Holy Spirit within us that we can more faithfully carry out our task of spreading and defending the faith.
Together with Baptism and Eucharist, the sacrament of Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation. Confirmation strengthens the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which seal or "confirm" the baptized in union with Christ and equip them for active participation in the worship and apostolic life of the Church.
Candidates should register for Religious Education. Confirmation is the same as a regular year of religious education. $150 (the sacramental fee is rolled into this).
A Sponsor Form must be filled out by your student's sponsor.
A copy of each Confirmation candidate's baptismal certificate is required. Please email a copy to Luke Gietman as soon as possible.
Confirmation candidates (those to be juniors) should already be contemplating both a potential sponsor and a Saint name to choose. Sponsors must be a practicing Catholic, 16 years of age or older and cannot be the student's parents.
