  • First Reconciliation

Reconciliation is sometimes called Penance or Confession. They are all referring to the same thing!

Confession is when we confess our sins to a priest who is acting in the Person of Christ. We are given a penance, which is an act of showing we are sorry for our sins.

We are then absolved from our sins, and reconciled with God.

It is the most beautiful thing to know God's love, mercy and forgiveness through this sacrament in our Church!

  • First Holy Communion

Jesus and children receiving their first holy communionEucharist, sometimes called Communion are actually two words that have different meanings.  Eucharist is both the Body and Blood of Christ. Communion is the Body of Christ. This sacrament was given to us by Jesus Himself at the Last Supper which is also known as the First Mass.

Jesus washed the feet of His disciples showing them how to serve others, and then He broke bread and blessed it with these words, "Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my Body, which will be given up for you."

Then He took the Chalice and blessed the wine with these words, "Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the Chalice of my Blood, the Blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.  Do this in memory of me."

We are receiving the Body of Christ and the Precious Blood of Christ at every Mass.  We receive God's love and grace every time we receive Him, as He Himself asked us to do this 'in memory of me.'  What an honor to stay close to the Lord.
